Jade Groff, RN, ERYT, NCTMB

Jade Groff, RN, ERYT, NCTMB brings her passion and purpose in women’s health and healing into Spiral Belly Services. Sharing her loving heart, healing touch, and soothing voice, Jade has helped transform the lives of many women with her classes and offerings. She began studying herbal medicine 20 years ago when searching for natural methods to treat women’s reproductive issues. Her studies and practice continue today and have expanded to include nutrition, flower essence therapy healing bodywork, yoga, doula services and JourneyDance™.
In 1996, Jade witnessed her first birth. This birth marked the beginning of her mission to become a midwife and assist women in finding their innate wisdom and power through the journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood. Jade’s initial training in midwifery was through an apprenticeship with Joanne Dozor, from 1997-2001. During this time, she also attended doula trainings through DONA and ALACE. Jade became a registered nurse after receiving her BSN through Villanova University in 2003. She has attended over 150 births, at home, in birth centers, and in the hospital, as a midwife’s apprentice, nurse, and doula. Through all these years of service and expanding her skills, Jade has prepared for her path as a midwife. In 2009, she took the next step and is currently attending The Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University for her Masters of Science in Midwifery to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM).
The Healing Bodywork Jade offers today is a blend of her years studying several different modalities, including Shiatsu, Ayurvedic Massage, CranioSacral Therapy, Lomi Lomi, Swedish massage, Reiki, and other energy healing techniques. She specializes in pregnancy and postpartum massage. Her initial training in pregnancy massage was with Carole Osborne-Sheets in 2000. She went on to study Ayurvedic postpartum massage, nutrition, and wellness in 2004 with Tovia Safford through the teachings of Ysha Oakes and Sacred Window. Jade continues to expand her knowledge and skills in various workshops and studies.
After years of studying and practicing yoga with David Newman, founder of Inner Fire Yoga and Yoga On Main, Jade received her certification and began teaching in 1999. Later that year, she studied at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India. She merged her calling to midwifery and her love of yoga into her teachings of prenatal yoga. In 2005, Jade attended The Khalsa Way Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Gurmukh and Davi Kaur Khalsa at Golden Bridge Yoga Center in Los Angeles. Through the years, Jade has mentored women in teaching prenatal yoga, and later, in 2008, offered her first comprehensive prenatal yoga teacher training. Since then she has taught three trainings in her style of prenatal yoga called Awakening Motherhood.
Jade is also a Certified Flower Essence Practitioner by her teacher, David Dalton of Delta Gardens. She continues to study with David and explore the healing power of flowers. She studied herbal medicine and Ayurveda with Anne McIntyre, Kate Gilday, Rosita Arvigo, Deb Soule, Amanda McQuade-Crawford, and Dr. Vasant Lad. With regular attendance at the annual Women’s Herbal Conference in New Hampshire, Jade studied with many teachers from around the world.
When taking time to nurture herself, Jade finds rejuvenation and balance through yoga and meditation, being in nature, dancing, traveling, gardening, sipping tea with friends, and most recently…hoop dancing!

“Love just flows. Whoever is willing to take the plunge and dive in, will be accepted as they are. There are no terms of conditions. If you are willing to take the dip, you will be accepted. If you are not willing, what can it do? The stream remains where it is. It never says no. It is constantly saying yes, yes, yes…” - Amma
