The spiral is the most ancient symbol found on every civilized continent. For many cultures it symbolized the sun.  Found at burial sites around the globe leads to the belief that the spiral shape represents the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.  It is the journey through the labyrinth of life and the soul’s journey of evolution.  We find spirals in the center of the sunflower, the shells of the ocean, the structure of DNA, and the structure of a galaxy.  Spiral is the shape of the force that moves through a woman in labor and the shape of her body’s rhythmic movements during labor and birth.  Following the course of the spiral leads one into the center of their being; to the source of truth and love that lives within. The spiral hypnotizes, creating a trance like state where one is in touch with the mystery of life; where one gives in to and rhythmically aligns with the Divine dance of life. Most scholars believe spirals are universal symbols of the spiritual balance between inner and outer consciousness, the sun, and the Cosmos.
